Ofsted/ School Performance

We are inspected regularly by Ofsted to ensure we are doing the best for our children.

We are absolutely delighted with the outcome of our Ofsted Inspection in March, 2023.

Westwood Academy continues to be a good school. There is enough evidence of improved performance to suggest that the school could be judged outstanding if we were to carry out a graded (section 5) inspection now.

The report states that Westwood Academy is a "friendly and nurturing school where pupils thrive" and "are extremely happy".  The report praised our “focus on developing pupils’ personal development” along with the expertise of teaching staff who “use their strong subject knowledge to deliver the curriculum effectively”.

The report highlights many of the things we’re very proud of here at Westwood such as the children’s delight in reading”, along with their ability to play joyfully with their friends and staff” at break times.

The government will not publish KS2 school level data for the 2021 to 2022 academic year. They have archived data from 2018 to 2019 academic year because they recognise that the data from that year may no longer reflect current performance.
