🎨 Year 5 Visit Oldham Art Gallery 🖼️ #BeAnExpertLearner

Year 5 had a fantastic trip to Oldham Art Gallery as part of our art learning this half term, where we have been exploring printing.

During our visit, the children became pattern detectives, carefully exploring the gallery and observing how patterns can be found everywhere around us — not just in artwork, but also in nature, shapes, and everyday designs. The children were fascinated to discover how artists use repeating patterns to create powerful visual effects. 

We began by sketching our favourite patterns from around the gallery, taking time to look closely and record fine details. After this, we had the exciting opportunity to transfer our designs onto styrofoam, before printing our patterns onto cotton fabric.

The children thoroughly enjoyed experimenting with printing techniques, developing their skills, and learning new ones along the way. They showed creativity, focus, and fantastic enthusiasm throughout the session.
