Trip to Ordsall Hall

Year 5 had a wonderful trip to Ordsall Hall this week, where we dived straight into the fascinating world of the Tudors. The children discovered the differences between how the rich lived compared to the poor, bringing their history learning to life in an exciting way.

One of the highlights of the day was taking part in a Tudor banquet! We also had the chance to prepare spices, and even create our own Tudor-style perfume using lemon balm, roses, cloves, and other ingredients – the hall was filled with wonderful scents.

This visit gave us a brilliant insight into what life was really like during Tudor times, and the children were full of curiosity and enthusiasm throughout.

We are now even more ready and inspired to continue our Tudor learning back in the classroom!
