Rain, Rivers & Ready to Learn! 🌦️📚
Date: 9th Jan 2026 @ 9:34pm
We’ve had a brilliant first week back and the children have settled in wonderfully, ready for an exciting term ahead!
In English, we started exploring our new text The Rhythm of the Rain. The children were fascinated by the journey water takes as it travels across the world. We discussed how rain falls, moves, and eventually reaches the other side of the planet, using rich vocabulary and thoughtful discussions to deepen our understanding of the text.
In Geography, we launched our new topic all about rivers. This week, we focused on the water cycle, learning about evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection. The children asked great questions and made brilliant links between our Geography learning and our English text.
In Computing, the children followed step-by-step instructions to create their own games. They absolutely loved having creative control and it was fantastic to see how each game was unique, showing their individual ideas and problem-solving skills.
It’s been a positive and productive start to the year, and we’re really proud of how enthusiastic and engaged the children have been.
