Eid Celebrations, River Nile & Scarab Adventures!
Date: 13th Jun 2025 @ 1:01pm
What a fun and busy week we've had in Year 3!
We started the week with a fantastic Eid party! The children came to school dressed in their lovely Eid and party clothes, ready for a day of celebration. We spent the morning doing Eid-themed colouring, puzzles, and activities, followed by exciting party games that had everyone laughing. Later in the day, we went swimming and made a big splash—literally! The children had a great time showing off their confidence in the water.
In Geography, we explored the River Nile and why it was so important in Ancient Egyptian times. The children were fascinated to learn how the river helped with farming, transport, and even the creation of the calendar. They asked brilliant questions and showed great curiosity throughout.
In Maths, we’ve continued working on our topic of time. We’ve been focusing on telling the time to the nearest minute and understanding the difference between seconds, minutes, and hours. The children are becoming more confident and working hard to master this tricky concept.
In English, we’ve been diving into the story The Scarab’s Secret. We began with some exciting drama work to help us understand the characters and plot. The children then created their own storyboards to help them retell the story in their own words. Their creativity and effort have been fantastic to see!
We’re so proud of how hard the children have worked this week. Well done, Year 3!
