We have had the busiest and most amazing week of learning in Year 1! We are continuing to settle in and explore our learning areas one at a time. The children have been showing great interest in our new learning challenges, such as building something from our local area, sorting pom-poms into colours that represent different feelings, and using magnetic letters to make words!

We read a new story, The Colour Monster, and had lots of fun during our drama lesson exploring different emotions. The children used their facial expressions and body language to act out a range of feelings and loved seeing how we can show our emotions without using words! Inspired by our story, the children created their very own Colour Monsters using colourful tissue paper. They then chose an emotion to explore and wrote about how it makes them feel. It was wonderful to see their creativity and hear them share their ideas and experiences!

We're looking forward to more learning next week.
